Here we celebrate the victory of the light over the darkness.
The god has died [in the form of the sun getting to its lowest point on the horizon] and now it returns until from the equinox there is more daylight than dark.
New birth, motherhood, milk, creativity and a celebration of the return of the light.

This has been mythologised around the world as the death of the god, the sacrifice of the feminine Earth to facitlitate the return and renewal
So as we journey with the Goddess this day we shall see what it is within us that must be sacrificed and released to create space for the God head to be reborn within us.
Throughout the Pantheon this is the time to be reborn and so shall we be as we journey this day!!
